Kami Land has been creating for as long as she can remember. She finds peace, inspiration, and motivation in the creative process. As an artist, her greatest joy is bringing beauty and happiness to others. She believes that art should be accessible to everyone and, above all else, capture a mood, feeling, or sense of beauty. Kami’s entrepreneurial spirit first began when she sold playdough figurines in fifth grade and continued to grow through college as she sold paintings and artwork to pay for spring break. Moving into the real world, Kami has broken into apparel design with her innovative, custom leggings printed with her original fluid paintings.

Kami lives in Massachusetts, with her sidekick Chihuahua, Phoebe. Kami and Phoebe can often be found painting in their loft, designing beautiful spaces in clients’ homes and businesses, and riding Kami’s turquoise bike through the streets looking for inspiration. While she works largely in acrylics, Kami is also adept at collage, jewelry making, cross-stitch, watercolor, and hand lettering. Kami’s zest for life, persistence, and indefatigable spirit all contribute to the joy and beauty found in all of her work. When she’s not painting, designing, or creating, Kami can be found exploring New England, spinning, or drinking iced green tea.

Why Interior Decorating?

Nothing has ever made me more excited than bringing a space to life with the right layout and decor.  Whether it was my room at boarding school, dorm room at college, or first apartment in the real world, my absolute favorite thing to do has always been to style my (or someone else's) living space.  Though this has always been my passion, my college did not offer interior design as a major.  I graduated with a degree in Art and Associated Studies and taught art for the first few years of my career.  While teaching was an experience I wouldn't trade for the world, I couldn't seem to get decorating out of the back of my head.

A friend recently asked me, “If you had a day off to do anything you wanted, what would you do?” I didn’t have to think twice.  I’d spend the whole day rearranging and redecorating my house, of course!  He said, “Then that’s what you should do. Do what you love.”  It was so simple and so obvious.  Why would I do anything else?  It was that small exchange of words that encouraged me to bring Kami Land Design to life!

I believe that your home should be your place of zen.  It should be a place you look forward to going to at the end of the day & one that reflects you and encompasses the things you love.  I feel that this can be achieved through affordable shopping at everyday retailers.  Designing a home is not something that should break your bank.  All we want to achieve is a pretty, comfortable, and welcoming environment.  Allow me to work with you to obtain the look and feel you’ve always imagined!  Together, we will make create your dream home!
